The Budwig Diet

The power of nutrition has been testified to over the course of time and in a modern, westernized society, it proves to still be a valid method for improving overall health.  Though pharmaceutical companies have provided cures for many conditions, there are still multiple cancers and diseases that have not yet been tested or sold.  In cases such as these, the influence of nutrition can play a larger part in an individual’s potential recovery.  With the Budwig Diet, there is a process that takes place internally to aid in how the body responds to cancerous cells, prevents them from spreading, and how it rejuvenates and repairs cells.  It also has been instrumental in preventing the promotion of the most common illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, and even eczema.  Buddy Custard is a product that implements the Budwig Diet Protocol in order to promote this process in pets.  The protocol has been be successful for men, women, and now with the help of Buddy Custard, also to man’s best friend.

The pinnacle of the Budwig Protocol is found in fats.  There are a number of different kinds of fats that work in conjunction with the body’s natural functions.  The Budwig Protocol focuses on the best kinds of fats.  These are called polyunsaturated fats.  This is just a larger, technical term for “good fats.”  The body is dependent upon the good fats to regulate the nervous system and to digest food properly.  “Bad Fats,” can work adversely.  These fats that are often found in processed foods which can cause discomfort and other symptoms related to the digestive system, heart function, and hormone regulation.  An important part of keeping the body healthy involves increasing the good fats and avoiding the bad ones.

The Budwig Diet Process

The Budwig Protocol is a simplified process so there’s no need to understand biology or chemistry to participate.  A firm understanding on what the protocol instructs is all that is needed.  The most important ingredients are cottage cheese and flaxseed.  These two ingredients work together to produce a nourishing combination.  Flaxseed has been found to stop the growth of cancer and in some cases work against cancer cells.  However, flaxseed alone is not always absorbable.  The Budwig Diet incorporates cottage cheese to work as conduit and improve the healthy intake of the flaxseed fats.  Not only is this combination pretty easy, it contributes to a healing methodology that has been used by many to combat illness.

Creation of The Budwig Diet

Dr. Johanna Budwig, who created the diet in the 1950s was unable to live to see the successes and implementation of her research.  However, she was able to see the improved health of others that came as a result of her research.  She provided services to over 2500 individuals with cancer and other ailments in 10 years of work and observed a 90% success rate in her patients.  She was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize seven times in her lifetime and celebrated healing in her patients.  Her contribution to the scientific community and cancer research made her renowned.

Results, Impact and Projections

For those of whom have used the Budwig Diet for their conditions, the changes have been monumental.  While some have used the Budwig Diet for rehabilitation independent of other treatments, many have also seen progress using the protocol to complement their existing course of treatment.  Because of the nutritional components to the diet, there are very few and rare side effects that can compromise the health of an individual.  Unlike chemotherapy or radiation, there is no harsh chemical impact that compromises the immune system.  The Budwig Diet actually assists in other areas that may not have even been assessed in regards to additional ailments.  It alleges to reduce inflammation which also is a key trigger in disease.  Once the inflammation in the body has been reduced, it become easier for the body to begin to heal and defend itself.

While there are stories from survivors of Stage 4 cancer, the FDA has not cleared any alternative health food diet as a method of treatment for cancer.  An oncologist or physician may recommend that a patient maintains a healthy lifestyle, however a prescription for this protocol is unlikely to be written.  The stories that have been told by the survivors however, prove to reflect and substantiate Dr. Budwig’s claims.  There are successes celebrated by those who have visibly watched their tumors shrink rapidly based on their implementation of the diet.  There are also celebrations by those who have experienced a change in their complexion, weight, and cognitive function even after experiencing the severe side effects from chemotherapy.  Even with these testimonies, some may marvel in disbelief.  As Dr. Dan C. Roehm M.D FACP wrote in 1990 in the Townsend Letters for Doctors.

“What she [Dr. Johanna Budwig] has demonstrated to my initial disbelief but lately, to my complete satisfaction in my practice is: CANCER IS EASILY CURABLE, the treatment is dietary/lifestyle, the response is immediate; the cancer cell is weak and vulnerable; the precise biochemical breakdown point was identified by her in 1951 and is specifically correctable, in vitro (test tube) as well as in vivo [humans and animals]”

The benefit of Dr. Ludwig’s formula is that it can be used by even otherwise healthy individuals looking to even further improve their health.

While the Budwig diet has more to do with what and what not to eat, there are other recommendations that were used when initially implemented.  Dr. Budwig recommended using frankincense oil daily on the neck and head for brain tumors.  She found this was successful in reducing the size and volume of the mass.  She also recommended regular exposure to the sun.  This, she expressed, enabled the body to observe more Vitamin D3 which promoted origination of cells and overall improved physical capabilities.

Dr. Budwig’s protocol has survived the fad diets of the last 60 years with outcomes that reflect a strong correlation between wellness and diet.  And while Dr. Ludwig is no longer living, her life was contributory to those who have been afflicted by horrible medical conditions that are often unlivable.  In this way, her legacy lives on and will continue to.  The outpouring of gratitude that is reflected in the testimonies of patients that are living proof of functionality to the research itself.  The Budwig diet has been lifesaving to so many that in has increased the awareness and popularity of choosing an alternative route for natural healing.  In implementing the application of digesting soluble healthy fats, the body rewards with improved overall well-being and vigor.
